In the partnership type, the relationship between the customer and outsourcing service provider is formed based on trust control combined with price and power control across organizations. Both parties have the same goal in mind--establishing a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship, where both parties share benefit and risk. Peter Drucker once said "Partnerships can be the key driving force for business growth in the future." Maikefalan agreed that establishing independent customers, partners and alliances for outsourcing service providers is the key to the future of information technology outsourcing. Andrew P. Kakabadse surveyed the senior management of 747 firms in the outsourcing industry and found that in the future, companies will most likely put more focus on horizontal management of customers, similar to a strategic alliance partnership.

6. Outsourcing service providers now have many different delivery modes, including onsite, nearshore, offshore, and bestshore (a combination of offshore types) models. Contracted parties are also now increasingly focused on global outsourcing delivery capacities.
