The Definition
The Wholly Foreign Owned Enterprise (WFOE or WOFE) is a Limited liability company wholly owned by the foreign investor(s). In China, WFOEs were originally conceived for encouraged manufacturing activities that were either export orientated or introduced advanced technology. However, after China's entried into the WTO, these conditions were gradually abolished and the WFOE is increasingly being used for service providers such as a variety of consulting and management services, software development and trading as well. With that, any enterprise in China which is 100% owned by a foreign company or companies can be called as WFOE.
Process of foreign company change the company name:
1, New check name, and get "Name pre-approval notice";
2.Change approval certificate of foreign companies after Economic Commission approval.
3,Change business license and electronic business license .
4,Change official seal, financial chapter, and invoice seal
5, Change organization code certificate and IC card;
6, Change tax registration certificate;
7,Statistical card change;
8. Change Fiscal registration certificate
9, Change Foreign Exchange Registration Certificate;
As for foreign trade import and export companies, you should do the following changes:
1, Change the record of foreign trade operators;
2. Customs registration certificate change;
3, E-port change;
4, Change export tax rebate change;
5, Inspection and quarantine change;
Also ,you should change foreign bank accounts and stamp change, including foreign companies basic account, foreign currency accounts, and tax accounts.

Materials for foreign company name change:
1,The new company's name ;
2, "Foreign-invested enterprise change registration application";
3, The highest authority of the company make resolutions or decisions;
4, The new articles of association signed by shareholders and leagal person, and official stamp on it
5, other documents demanded by authority.
Time required
1. About 50 working days or so.
2, Import and export record change is also needed, about 30 working days.
