Transportation
Yiwu City, located in the central part of Zhejiang Province, is an important traffic center in the central area of Zhejiang Province, only one hour’s drive from Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhejiang Province, and Ningbo, the No.1 Orient Harbor, and two hours’ drive from the international metropolis Shanghai. The outbound transportation system mainly comprises roads and railways and the Yiwu Airport is in charge of air transportation. Currently, the Hangzhou-Jinhua-Quzhou Expressway and No.s03, No.s37, No.s20 provincial roads form the main road network. And the Ningbo-Jinhua Expressway is scheduled to complete the construction and put into operation at the end of 2005. The railway network constitutes the old line of Zhejiang-Jiangxi railway and the new electrified line of Zhejiang-Jiangxi railway which goes along the internal side of Hangzhou-Jinhua-Quzhou Expressway and was put into use in October 2005. As a 4C grade airport and the only civil airport in the center of Zhejiang Province, Yiwu  Airport opens more than ten domestic lines to the cities like Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Shantou, Xiamen and Fujian.

Fast and Convenient Logistics
With developed domestic logistics, there are over 340 inter-province cargo transportation routes, directly connected with more than 140 medium and large sized cities all round the country. More than 250 consignment offices operated over 160 inter-province outbound transportation routes with daily cargo throughput of over 4,300 tons.

Yiwu International Logistics Center
Yiwu International Logistics Center is a logistic center with the largest scale, fullest facilities and best services in the central and western parts of Zhejiang Province, forming a one-stop system integrating inspection and quarantine, making customs declarations, customs examination and flow of documents, goods, capital and information. The Center is made up of organizations like points under customs supervision and field offices of inspection and quarantine, service units involved in the fields of auxiliary ship affairs, shipping forwarding, freight forwarding, ocean shipping agency, inspection declaration and customs declaration, foreign trade warehouses and stacking yards for empty, loaded and reefer containers. Eight of the top 20 ocean shipping groups in the world set up branches or offices in Yiwu to deal with the shipping business of commodity exporting. There are over 600 world-known shipping companies, freight forwarding companies, freight forwarding agencies and ocean shipping agencies in Yiwu. In 2004, commodities in more than 0.4 million standard containers were exported to other parts of the world. Yiwu is recognized as one of the main cities for the construction of “one-stop” customs clearance system by the government of Zhejiang Province. Yiwu, Xiaoshan International Airport and Ningbo Harbor are the three key construction points for “one-stop” customs clearance system.
